I had a little plaque around here somewhere with that saying on it. It used to hang on the door that opened to the red room (what else 😉 ) that used to be the “photo suite”. However, I learned (the hard way) that a red room is not very conducive to optimal lighting for photography despite having the best window in the house for natural light. The red room is now my son’s room. Someday, it will return to being the photo suite … with a new coat of paint. Where was all this leading… Oh yea, RED! Just so happens to be my favorite color and this week’s 52×52. The only hard part about this week’s challenge was actually deciding on what to photograph…there’s something red everywhere!
Strawberry fields forever…
My favorite fruit, so happens it’s red. Coincidence?
I found so many things red to photograph that I haven’t even had a chance to go through them all. Stay tuned for RED Part II.
’til next time,
Shout outs to Kim Klassen Textures, Florabella Actions, & French Kiss Textures!
Popping in real quick with this week’s 2B and another Texture Tuesday
From above… What a great perspective. I love photographing flowers from under, behind, . . . and above.
A little about the process: I used Kim’s KK_Lisa with blend mode multiply 100% and KK_Lisa with blend mode Screen 90%. I definitely wasn’t feeling the black background (I think I was still in the dream-like state of mind) and wanted to keep the green leaves and the depth they created. But I wasn’t in the mood to take the time to mask & cut the background. By playing with the blending modes, I was able to save a lot of time and keep the soft effect of the original.
And now … Texture Tuesday and the Dream-Like Edition
Until next time,
I’m so glad I had more rose images ready to go so I could jump right into today’s 2B tutorial. I’ve been using Lightroom (LR … from this point on) for over a year maybe two. I love it for its photo editing. It still has me a bit baffled when it comes to maximizing the catalog and photo management capabilities ~ but I’m learning. And today, thanks to Kim and 2B, I learned an awesome way to produce layouts that is so super easy for blogs or printing. This is a definite KEEPER!
I call it 2B+LR=Awesome 🙂
Trust the Process. These three little words is all it took …
Thank you Kim for sharing your story and your words.
