be thankful

Thankful

Good Morning!  Getting an early start… there’s so much to fit in today, some of the usual holiday activities… and some not so traditional like catching my son’s very first 8k Turkey Trot this morning; I do love when a new tradition starts.  Then there’s some cooking, the family gathering, and of course the big finish, the turkey dinner.  It’s quiet now, a good time to reflect on all that I am thankful for… which is so very much!  I truly am blessed for everything and everyone in my life.

   Wishing you & yours a
Happy Thanksgiving

Here’s to a Spooktacular October

It’s been a busy month and my camera has gotten one heck of a workout… from the events for A Woman’s Place and 5k’s benefiting our four-legged friends, to this year’s amazing autumn landscape and color, to getting creative with things just lying around the house and at the “Haunted Ghost House” in Lambertville…  {whew}

To commemorate such an awesome month….  I’ve put a little something together to sum it all up.

Want to see some more of my images from the “Haunted Ghost House?” I’ll be posting throughout the day on Instagram. So much  effort and creativity goes into Dolores Dragan’s Halloween art display for all to enjoy, so be sure to check them out HERE.  Not on Instagram or Facebook, not to worry, I’ll do an “after party” post tomorrow… stay tuned.

Hope you have a Spooktacular Halloween!

Until next time,
Maria

Shout out to Jai Art and Captured by Carrie for helping me add just the right mood to my image.

Don’t leave home without it…

Beautiful fall day.  Decided to quit work early and head to a pumpkin patch with my daughter.  Of course we picked one where the drive was a as much a part of the outting…to soak up all that autumn goodness.  Getting out the door was another thing and in my hurry, guess what I forgot.   Yup, my camera…   A few minutes into the ride, still frazzled,  going back wasn’t an option.   And with that my daughter said “maybe that’s a good thing.”  Translation: Whew… I won’t have to wait around while you spend (excessive) minutes taking pictures of a pumpkin…  But doesn’t it figure, we had the pumpkin patch to ourselves,

there was little to no wind and the flower patch was in all its glory not to mention the fall colors in the hills.  And if that wasn’t enough…a beautiful heron was feeding in the canal, perfectly content having us around to watch…

and me without my camera.  Oh but wait… I did have a camera, obviously.  Do I have photos that are show stoppers… probably not.  But! I captured a few beautiful moments on a beautiful fall afternoon spent with my daughter.  Happy Fall All!

Until next time,
Maria

Ch-ch-ch-changes

Change is in the air…  Time to get while the getting is still good.

It’s been blustery and cold here today and I’m guessing there are only a few more days, maybe a week or so (she says optimistically), of the beautiful fall color we had this year.   Here’s a few more of my favorite fall finds

Taking the time

With so many unknowns looming in the day-to-day, what with shut downs, break downs, slow downs, etc. etc… the family and I headed out to just enjoy the day.  I had an agenda, but left my fate and the direction we took in the hands of my trusty navigator.  As I got turned around and completely lost all bearings (even though I was behind the wheel) on where we were and where I thought we were headed, my navigator knew exactly where were headed, a little town called St. Peters Village.  A day late for the town’s October Fest, but it must have been good because no one got up early to take down orange and white bunting on the buildings…. except for oneone-roomAnd a bonus on this beautiful fall day was a quarry just behind these buildings.  DSC_4407-Edit-2DSC_4412-Edit-1So much for agendas….  this was way better!

Fall Outings

The weather the past couple of Sundays has been perfect for getting out and shooting everything Fall.  Linda, who likes to get up and going as earlier as I do, and I went to the Cranberry Bogs in NJ a couple of Sundays ago, Jim Thorpe, PA last Sunday, and even though I can’t head to Bombay Hook with her tomorrow, I’ll be heading to New Hope, PA.  This will probably be the last weekend to catch fall at its peak; the leaves have been coming down quick (my yard is a testament to that).  Between the past two Sundays I have shot a few hundred photos . . . plenty to keep me busy through the winter months when I am stuck inside.
